Your Money. Your Privacy.
Completely Invisible.
SilentLedger is a privacy-focused smart contract system on the Splendor blockchain. Keep your balances private, make invisible transactions, and maintain full control of your wallet—all without exposing your financial activity to the world.
How SilentLedger Works
A fully on-chain privacy layer. No off-chain database required. Your SilentLedger account behaves like a Safe.global smart account—but with complete privacy.
Create Your Account
Deploy your own SilentLedger smart contract account. This contract stores all your encrypted notes and account root. Only you can authorize transactions.
Deposit & Shield
Send SPLD tokens to your SilentLedger account. The contract creates encrypted notes and updates your account root. Your public balance disappears—only you can see it.
Wallet Decrypts Balance
Your wallet derives a view key from your seed. It fetches encrypted ciphertexts from your account, decrypts only the notes belonging to you, and sums them to display your private balance.
Transact Privately
Select notes to spend, create outputs for the receiver and change for yourself. Sign with your wallet, generate a ZK proof, and submit. The Coordinator verifies and updates both accounts—all privately.
Traditional vs SilentLedger
See the difference privacy makes. Your financial data should be yours alone.
Traditional Blockchain
SilentLedger
Privacy Features
Everything you need for complete financial privacy on the Splendor blockchain.
Private Balances
Your balance is stored as encrypted notes on-chain. Only your wallet's view key can decrypt and display your actual balance—nobody else can see it.
Invisible Transactions
Send and receive without revealing amounts or addresses. The blockchain only sees hashes and ciphertexts—not the actual amounts or participants.
Wallet-Controlled Accounts
Each user deploys their own SilentLedger smart contract account. Only the account owner can authorize transactions—like Safe.global, but private.
Zero-Knowledge Proofs
ZK-SNARKs verify that transactions are valid (inputs = outputs) without revealing any underlying data. Mathematical privacy enforced on-chain.
Fully On-Chain
SilentLedger is fully L1 on Splendor. No off-chain database required. All encrypted notes and account roots live directly on the blockchain.
Deposit & Withdraw Freely
Shield funds by depositing into SilentLedger. Unshield anytime by withdrawing back to a public address. Your funds are never locked.
View Key Decryption
Derive a view key from your wallet to decrypt your notes on demand. No need to store notes locally—scan and decrypt whenever you need.
Fast & Efficient
Local ZK proof generation in 1-3 seconds. Transactions confirm in 10-30 seconds. Privacy shouldn't cost you speed.
Privacy Technology Explained
SilentLedger uses advanced cryptography to keep your finances private. Here's how it works in simple terms.
Notes
Encrypted Value Records
Your balance is stored as encrypted 'notes' on the blockchain. Each note contains an amount encrypted with your public key - only your wallet's view key can decrypt and read the actual values.
Commitments
Binding Without Revealing
A commitment is a cryptographic hash that locks in a value without revealing it. Think of it as a sealed envelope - everyone can see the envelope exists, but only you know what's inside.
Ciphertexts
Encrypted Transaction Data
Transaction details (amounts, recipients) are encrypted into ciphertexts. These can only be decrypted by the intended recipient using their view key derived from their wallet.
View Keys
Read-Only Access
Your view key is derived from signing a message with your wallet. It allows you to decrypt your own notes and see your balance, without giving spending authority.
Nullifiers
Preventing Double-Spends
When you spend a note, a unique 'nullifier' is published. This marks the note as spent without revealing which note it was - preventing double-spending while maintaining privacy.
ZK-SNARKs
Proofs Without Secrets
Zero-Knowledge Succinct Non-interactive Arguments of Knowledge let you prove statements (like 'I own enough funds') without revealing any underlying data.
Step-by-Step Workflow
Understanding the complete transaction lifecycle in SilentLedger—from account creation to withdrawal.
Account Creation
User deploys their SilentLedger account smart contract. Contract stores owner address and initializes the account root.
Deposit / Shield
User sends tokens to their SilentLedger account. Contract creates a new encrypted note and updates account root.
Wallet Reads Balances
Wallet fetches ciphertexts from the account. Derives view key and decrypts only notes belonging to the owner. Sums decrypted notes to display private balance.
Private Transfer
Wallet selects input notes to spend, creates output notes for receiver and change. Generates a ZK proof that the transaction is correct and signs with owner key.
Submit Transfer
Owner submits proof and ciphertexts to the Coordinator contract. Coordinator verifies proof and owner signature, then updates sender and receiver account roots.
Funds Received
Receiver wallet fetches new ciphertexts from their account. Decrypts notes with their view key to see their updated private balance.
Withdraw / Unshield
Owner creates a proof to release funds back to a public Splendor address. Coordinator verifies proof and releases funds to the specified address.
Full Privacy
Amounts, senders, and recipients are hidden
On-Chain Enforcement
ZK proofs prevent double-spending
Wallet-Friendly
Users can always see their own balances
Self-Custody
Account owners control all moves—no external provers required
